_{First of all, I apologize for the delay in posting this. Oddly, this was the second one of the batch done, and I decided to submit it through the Scheduled Submit just to see how the system worked.
UH, yeah dA really needs to fix that thing, it made a fiasco of my submit page and it gave me hell for about two weeks.

ANYWAY Sorry Giw, for the delay.

From the earthen egg hatches a creature you would not have deduced was even a possibility, based purely upon the exterior of the egg. It's a small fledgeling of some kind of crane-like beast, but it's not like any bird you've seen before.
Despite it looking like it has a lithe frame, when you rest your palms against its body you realize its feathers are built more like tough leather, graced with a soft covering similar to lichen.
Though it has a perpetual, stony expression on it's face, the creature seems to be a rather benign Earthen spirit. It's graceful and well-paced, like the movements of the trees in a calm Spring shower, and where its talons dig into the earth, small grass shoots sprout up.

(Oddly, the plants that spring in the Earth creature's footsteps don't seem to be of any known genus. The creature seems to create them solely to feed on. For the most part, the ferns are harmless and small, unless you attempt to remove them using a herbacide; in which case, instead of dying, they grow into annoying thorn thickets and choke out the surrounding plantlife. If you urge it to, the Earth creature will clear away the overgrown thistles with the large, stone sword on its head. It won't eat the thistles, to no surprise. )

This creature is designed purely for ~Niao-GIW's use. They may use the design and species however they would like to. I only claim the artwork as my own.
